Note 1 of 14
A string, no fingers
Tap the glowing spot on the violin.
The notes for the first line, in A major: A A E E F♯ F♯ E (Twinkle twinkle little star), D D C♯ C♯ B B A (how I wonder what you are). The A and E notes with no fingers are open strings.
How a violin works
Four strings
A violin has four strings: G, D, A and E, from lowest to highest. The thickest one makes the lowest sound.
Fingers make new notes
Pressing a finger on a string makes the part that vibrates shorter, so the note goes higher.
Finger stickers
The dots show where fingers go. Many beginners have little stickers in exactly these places on their own violin.
